The *C*ollaborative *O*ptical *S*pectroscopy, *M*icromanipulation and *I*maging *C*entre (COSMIC) was established more than 10 years ago as a highly interdisciplinary project between researchers from the Schools of Biology, Chemistry, Medicine and Physics. The centre's aim is to provide and develop facilities for the optical characterization, control and imaging of complex materials.
